Gardeners and volunteers in Cornwall's National Trust gardens are holding their annual Valentines Day flower count.
Every year they take an annual snapshot at the start of spring to find out how much the county's climate is changing.
Seven gardens across the county are taking part, including Trelissick near Truro. The highest record of plants in flower at this time of year at Trelissick is 220.
Numbers fell to just 78 this time a year ago because unusually the county was covered in snow and ice.
This year there is already a spectacular display of magnolias and the rhododendrons will soon be starting to bloom.
