Another live music charity event is being held in Truro this Saturday to raise money for the Shelterbox Haiti appeal.

There will be something for everyone and dancing in the street if last week's event is anything to go by, with half hour sets from rock groups, fiddlers and a steel drum troupe.

It all starts at 9.30am at Lemon Quay, and will feature performances from local bands, Caribbean rockers "Hammered Steel", and a folk fiddle player. Organizer Bryan Gibson will kick off the day-long event with his band, "The Wadebridge / Padstow Buskers".

The second big Busk event intends to raise more than the first. Bryan Gibson said: "Last week's effort raised the "£2022. 49p plus one unidentifiable foreign coin".

Pantomime

The cultural scene in Cornwall has rushed to support Shelterbox and their work in Haiti. Rehearsals are now in full swing on the Lizard for the St Keverne pantomime, which will raise money for the local charity.

It is a version of Alice in Wonderland. Performances begin in two weeks - from February 17-20

Pupils from Penrice College have also recorded a single in aid of the disaster. You can listen to it through Shelterbox's Facebook page and download at the JustGiving website.
