Lady Gaga: best international female
Glam pop artist Lady Gaga dominated the 30th BRITs last night, the first international artist to win a hat-trick of awards in the last five years.
Gaga, dressed in an eerie carnival headdress and a three-tiered white dress, picked up every award she was nominated for. She won international breakthrough act, female solo artist, and best international album for "The Fame".
The singer, who dedicated her eccentric performance to recently-deceased fashion designer Alexander McQueen, told her fans: "Thank you so much for believing in me.”
But the highlight of the night was the powerful duet between US rapper Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, who blew the audience away with their song “Empire State Of Mind”.
Star-struck
Undiscouraged by the rainy weather, hundreds of star-struck fans crowded outside the west London venue hoping to catch a glimpse of the stars.
Oasis singer Liam Gallagher was typically controversial when he threw his award for best Brit-winning album of the last 30 years straight into the crowd.
Reconciliation between the Oasis brothers seems unlikely after Liam deliberately thanked all of his former bandmates except brother Noel, who was absent from the event.
Robbie Williams, picked up the lifetime achievement honour despite receiving lukewarm reviews for his last two albums. He ended the show with a live remix of his greatest hits including Let Me Entertain You, No Regrets and Angels.
