Cornish Pirates management have informed players that those who remain at the club next season will be forced to take a pay cut.
The moves are designed to help ease the clubs financial worries.
The announcement comes just a month after a public meeting was held by the Pirates to discuss ways to compensate for a projected £650,000 budgeting shortfall.
Owner Dicky Evans revealed the plans to cut players wages in a press statement to explain the sacking of head coach Mark Hewitt.
Tough
Pirates press officer Phil Western explained that all clubs were suffering in the current financial climate and that the Pirates were no different.
The Pirates are looking to be one of the teams competing in the new 12 team Championship next season.
The competition will replace National League One and will be fully professional and subject to regulations similar to the Guinness Premiership.
In order to ensure their place the Pirates must finish in the top 11 in League One, with the side currently in sixth place.
