London 2012 organisation
Tickets for London 2012 have gone on sale, 500 days ahead of the event.
Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour in the south-west will be the venue for the Olympic and Paralympic sailing competitions.
These will be held from July 29 to August 11 next year. Weymouth will see the Elliott 6m, an Olympic-class keelboat designed by Greg Elliott, has been selected for the women's match racing event.
Tickets for the 2012 Olympics start at £20 and go up to £55, depending on the stage of the competition.
Lord Coe, chairman of London 2012, said: "If you look at the way we have put the price points together I think we've done that in a really smart way. I think those prices are affordable.
Stars
"Yes, the big ticket events are always going to be the big ticket events, but there are plenty of opportunities to see the big stars at the lower price points."
Some 6.6 million tickets are available from the London 2012 website over a six-week period and organisers say all applications will be treated equally.
Spectators can apply via the London 2012 ticketing website or use the paper application form contained in the official ticketing guide. The process is open for a six-week period until April 26.
The system is not first come, first served. A ballot will operate for over-subscribed events.
However events like the marathon and cycling road race are free along most of the route.
