Divers will be descending on a new underwater festival at Pentewan in May.

Dive Fest will showcase the exciting sport of scuba diving.  It will take place at Pentewan Sands Holiday Park near St Austell from May 10 - 14.

The festival is being organised by the British Sub Aqua club.  It will host dive and snorkel trips, as well as featuring a range of other beach activities.

The event welcomes unqualified divers. "Try dives' will be available for those who have never tried the sport.

Famous

Famous divers such as Monty Halls will be speaking about their work and dive-related films will be shown across the weekend.

The festival is for all the family. Non-dive related activities will be taking place as well including beachcombing walks, volley ball and dancing.

Diving manufacturers will also be on hand to showcase their latest products, along with competitions to win prizes. Entries to the British Underwater Image Festival will also be unveiled and prize giving ceremony is due to take place on the Sunday.

Under 16s receive free entry to the festival, provided they are accompanied by a ticket-holding adult.
