Vettel leads the way in first day of testing

The current World Champion Sebastian Vettel has picked up where he left off at the end of last season by leading the way in Barcelona.

The German was showing off his new RB8 Red Bull car and he wasted no time in setting the pace for the rest of the pack by posting a 1:23:338.

Lewis Hamilton was not far behind with the third fastest time in his Mclaren.

The two day testing in Spain is the first time the drivers' will have a chance to thrash their cars out, ahead of the first race of the season in Australia next month.

The performance and set-up of the machines are being assessed today and tomorrow ahead of what promises to be an exciting season.
