Female drivers face higher premiums
Dundee photographics
Male and female drivers will no longer pay different insurance premiums under a new ruling by the European Court of Justice.
It means insurance firms in Europe will have to change their system for calculating insurance premiums and pension annuities.
Currently, men under 30 can pay up to double the amount for car insurance as statistically women are considered to be safer drivers.
The prices of policies are expected to even out when the ruling comes into force in December 2012.

Pasties on sale at Kings Cross station, London

Graham Watson is pushing for Cornwalls "national" dish to have PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) status.
This means Cornish pasties could only be made in Cornwall in the future.
Mr Watson handed out authentic pasties to his European colleagues at the European Parliament this week.
