Image for Smith defends expenses claim

Home Secretary  Jacqui Smith is coming under increasing pressure to explain her second home expenses.

Ms Smith currently claims Parliamentary expenses for her family home in Redditch while naming her sister's home in London as her main residence.

So far Ms Smith has claimed £116,000 towards the upkeep of her constituency home in Redditch.

MPs are allowed to claim expenses to help maintain a second home close to Westminster if their constituency is far from the capital.
