The 65th anniversary of the liberation of Auchswitz has been commemorated in a tree-planting ceremony at University College Falmouth.

The international day of remembrance was marked with various events worldwide, paying tribute to the victims and survivors of the Holocaust and subsequent genocide atrocities.

Five sorbus-rowan trees were planted within university's grounds in a collaborative effort between the groundsman and Friend Champion building contractors.

Image for Museum wants young people

'Chav girls' by Alexis Weetman

Cornwall's leading museum wants to get more young people through its doors.

Students from the University College Falmouth's contemporary craft course have been working with the Royal Cornwall Museum on ways to make it more appealing.

Their exhibition titled Recollection is on at the museum from Saturday 14 March to Friday 13 October.

They took their inspiration from the museum's collections while investigating, researching and interpreting individual objects.
