Image for Players forced to take pay cut

Cornish Pirates management have informed players that those who remain at the club next season will be forced to take a pay cut.

The moves are designed to help ease the clubs financial worries.

The announcement comes just a month after a public meeting was held by the Pirates to discuss ways to compensate for a projected £650,000 budgeting shortfall.

Owner Dicky Evans revealed the plans to cut players wages in a press statement  to explain the sacking of head coach Mark Hewitt.
