Foreign language loss 'costs economy £10bn'

The UK economy could be losing millions because of a sharp decline in foreign language skills, says a new report from an educational charity..

Dr Anthony Mann of the Education and Employment Taskforce said this was holding back both young people and the UK economy

It is believed that the decline in learning languages is partly due to a lack of  information. Young people do not think that speaking other languages will be useful in the workplace.
