Two of Britain's boxing superstars are a 'disgrace' to the sport, according to promoter Frank Warren.

Former heavyweight champion David Haye and rival Dereck Chisora came to blows at a post fight press conference in Munich.

The event was reviewing Chisora's fight on Saturday against Ukranian champion Vitali Klitschko.

Haye attended the conference as part of the crowd, but quickly became the centre of attention as the two men exchanged slurs and taunted eachother about their recent defeats.

Chisora waded into the crowd to confront Haye, where they began to brawl. Video footage shows Haye striking Chisora with a bottle in his clenched fist and swinging a camera tripod. David Haye's trainer was injured during the melee.

The two were separated and Haye fled the scene back to the UK. Chisora remained in Munich to be questioned by local police, but has since been released without charge.

The violence disrupted a positive weekend for Chisora, as he received high praise for his close-fought defeat to Vitali Klitschko on Saturday night.

Frank Warren, Chisora's promoter for the fight, described the pair's behaviour as an "embarrassment". He said: "The two men acted like complete idiots."

The clash has been widely condemned by amateurs and professionals in the sport. Mike Sawden, chairman of Falmouth & Penryn boxing club, said boxers had forgotten how to act.
